WHO IS THE FOOD GURU ?
Baz is simply a food hedonist and lush of note – everyday, every minute is consumed with making food / writing recipes / developing menu’s / styling food shots / drinking wine and loving life !!
Baz has been working in the food world for over 12 years now, having started out as a photographer – he has worked in london and berlin and spent a few years managing the innovation kitchen at woolies in cape town where he did a lot of work on developing meals for retail as well as the WW Cafe Brand. The idea of this blog is to share some of his daily food idea’s and inspiration with the world in a very no nonsense and visual way.
baz says….
I adore: Berlin, cats, wooded chardonnay, homemade pasta, french bubbly, the biscuit mill food market
I cant stand: ice in wine, people who talk too much, instant anything
I collect: hats, vintage red wine, moleskine notebooks, arb pens & le creuset kitchen ware
my best chill spots: Cape west coast, glenwood in durban, the oysterbox hotel umhlanga, bakoven beach cape town, home
my most memorable meals out: Overture - Stellenbosch, La Peca – Lonigo, Italy, Craft Trattoria – Durban, LQF & ici – in the old days, La Maison Juane – St Remy de Provence, Antica Trattoria della Pesa – Milano, The test kitchen – woodstock, Toms Kitchen by Tom Aikens – London, Otto Lenghi – Notting Hill.
two words: next meal
to do before I kick the bucket: stay at the plaza in NYC and eat at all the best spots from food trucks to top drawer budget breakers – esp thomas keller’s PER SE and Momofuko Noodle Bar !!
